We aim to be the best and most respected provider of physiotherapy services in the local area by improving every client’s health and well-being through our expert services. Galway Bay Physiotherapy was set up and is run by Galway native Ciaran Coyle and services are provided by Maria Farrell, Colin Thornton and Ciaran himself. All of our physiotherapists are members of the ISCP, are university trained with international experience and have undertaken a range of extensive post graduate training. The company operates from clinics in Athenry, on the Dock Road in Galway and our latest site is conveniently located in the newly renovated, state of the art Arlington House GP centre. It is based just outside Oranmore on the old Dublin Road roundabout across from the Oranmore GAA pitch and community centre.
Galway Bay Physiotherapy and its sole physiotherapist Colin Thornton have established strong links with various local sports clubs and organisations built over the years and also have established strong links and acquaintances with local and national GP’s, consultants and surgeons even prior to setting up at this facility.
Colin is from nearby Carnmore and knows the local area very well having gone to school and played soccer in Oranmore. In addition to graduating with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) from the University of Salford in Manchester, he has a National Certificate in Health Science and Physiology. Colin has returned from Australia where he worked for over 3 years in one of the leading providers of physiotherapy services in the country which included working with patients of all types, elderly care, rehabilitation from a variety of injuries and surgeries, sports teams and paediatrics to name a few. He has the advantage of bringing much different experiences in the way of treating clients and has a special interest in neck, back and sport related conditions. Colin has also completed a number of courses including Sports Massage, Dry Needling and Pilates. Colin specialises in hands on musculoskeletal physiotherapy providing detailed assessment, treatment and advice following injury and pain. He is a strong believer in giving each client sufficient time during each one to one private session to ensure quality of care and quick recovery. Also, Colin believes sourcing the problem and preventing recurrence is key and you will play a major role in your own recovery.
